Today, Carrizozo's St. Rita Catholic Church and its missions, Sacred Heart and St. Therese of the Little Flower are part of the Diocese of Las Cruces. The roots of Carrizozo's Catholic Church can be traced back to the early 1900s. The parish headquarters were originally in Lincoln, NM and included missions in Carrizozo and several other small towns in the area.
